On Tuesday we reviewed for the exam with an emphasis on the endocrine system and feedback diagrams. We discussed the application section of the exam.

Today we took up the two homeostasis tests and then we finished our mini-unit on evolution....Natural Selection! Evidence of Evolution??? Who influenced Darwin and the development of the theories of evolution???
Exam review Tuesday-Thursday.

On Friday students wrote the nervouse system test. We then discussed some historical figures in the study of evolution.

Today students presented their homeostasis projects. Remember you have a test tomorrow on the nervous system.

On Wednesday, students learned about the autonomic nervous system and the eye. They then performed a cow eye dissection.

Today students learned about the CNS. They then completed the sheep brain dissection. The questions of this lab are to be done for homework. Reminders, a few of you need to hand in your caffeine lab tomorrow. Your Homeostasis project is due on Thursday.

Today students learned about how a nerve impulse is transmitted down a neuron and then how it "jumps" the synapse.

Today students wrote the first homeostasis test on the excretory system and the endocrine system.

On Thursday we did a little review for tomorrow's test. We then got into the nervous system and looked at neurons, the reflex arc, and the divisions of the nervous system.

Today we did the endocrine matching activity. We then began the nervous system with the first note on this topic. This will continue tomorrow. Remember to start studying now for Friday's test!

Today we reviewed the endocrine system in preparation for Friday's test.

Today we discussed the fact that there is really only two weeks of classes left before exam week begins. Students should be intensely focused on the work ahead, studying for exams, and booking time off of work and other social activities. We then discussed the caffeine lab, the homeostasis project and where we are in the homeostasis unit. We have set dates for the pending assessments. We then dissected a pig kidney and then students worked on the menstrual cycle lab activity sheets. These will be collected tomorrow.
